Govt. Industrial Training Institute Nangal is located on the
bank of River Setluj. It was Established in the year of 1962
with the intake capacity of 103 now at present capacity Of
Institution is 276. The Institution was open in 1962 by
keeping in view the supply Of skilled labour to The Bhakra Dam
as the construction of this project at that time was In full
swing. Initially it had a very big campus but most of its part
was demolished to Accommodate APS Hydel Channel for generation
of Electricity. The remain Area measuring about has one block
of theory room, one block of Non-engineering Trades, Office,
Workshop & two blocks of hostel which are being utilized to
accommodate Theory & Practical classes of various trades.
The Institute is running different trades, which are covered
under the Umbrella of NCVT & SCVT Scheme s. The total
numbers of trade running at present Institute functions in
single shift commencing from 8.30 to 5 P.M.

Today Nangal Township is supplying
electricity to all the Northern States of India produced
by Bhakra Dam & its local channels.
